There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 02:39, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would rather see that we moved away from using "Religion" at all, except for in the cases where whomever the article is about is actually religious. Instead we could be using other terms, such as "Worldview" or perhaps "Position on Religion" and then for example enter "X-Religion" / "X-Religion Agnostic" / "Atheist" / "Unknown" etc.
The usage of "Religion: None" seemingly states on its own that "being religions is and should indeed be the standard" and that "how much and in what way one is religious is what should be measured". Both views from which I personally strongly digress and would argue are not worthy of an encyclopedia dedicated to supplying facts, not opinions.
