Is this a licenced version of Pop Idol, or just a copycat? Or is it a licenced version of Star Academy or Operacion Triunfo? Or is it a completely original show?

Certainly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Academy claims La Academia as a version of Star Academy rather than Idol. I'm changing it, please let me know if you have reason to believe this is wrong. 203.113.233.152 01:48, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

yes that was me! :) i saw the word "academy" in the show's title and assumed it was a star academy series... but i'm not sure, which is why i asked here.... especially as this article claims it spawned spin-offs in other countries, i.e. suggesting it was then start of a new original franchise. also please note that mexico had its own operacion triunfo show, and operacion triunfo is just the "spanish" brand of star academy. so it doesnt make sense for 2 starac/optriunfo shows to air on 2 different mexican channels? I know this is late, but this is a completely new series as this in itself has spawned international versions of its own. Televisa's "Operacion Triunfo" was indeed the official "Star Academy" entry.

Jolette Hernández[edit]

It was suggested in merge the article Jolette Hernández. I start the discussion with an object because biographies are (technically) not for this article. TbhotchTalk C. 19:31, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

House of Fame (Greek TV series) or (Greek TV show/programme)[edit]

User:Tbhotch Why do you want to put show/programme, when House of Fame will air for 3-4 Months. This is the first season and maybe have also a second season. I think it have to be series, like Star Academy (Greek TV series) or Big Brother (Greek TV series) or The X Factor (Greek TV series). ArsiArmo (talk) 19:23, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ArsiArmo: Those names are equally incorrect, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television). (CC) Tbhotch 19:29, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tbhotch:But then why are every show also from other countries with series? Why they don't change it? ArsiArmo (talk) 20:02, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Because a few years ago, every show was at "Television Show (Country)" ([1][2][3]). The reason they got moved was Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television) (WP:NCTV), but even then [4] NCTV did suggest to use "(TV program)" instead of "TV series" when the TV show lacks a narrative theme. All these non-serial "TV series" are just a remanent of an incorrect disambiguation term. Should they be moved? Of course, but there are hundreds of pages involved.
