I read somewhere that the LARC-V might have been the successor to the DUKW... does anybody know if this is the case? (and/or has sources for this?) --Interiot 13:40, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This vehicle (with a soviet star on each vehicle) appears to be the vehicle used in the movie 'Tomb Raider'. I have added this reference. If this is not the correct vehicle please remove.--Dj245 02:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commonwealth Use[edit]

I believe the British Army purchased many LARC units, with their own specs, during the 70s. This is the same type operated by the Australian Army. The Connecticut manufacturer of the drive train, Consolidated Diesel Electric, went broke in the late 90s. The high turnover front CV joints are no longer available causing rapid retirement of these vehicles.220.244.88.237 (talk) 12:50, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No idea who originally bought them, but there are certainly LARCs available on the UK surplus market. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:33, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
