Kulebak Iron Works[edit]

This company was owned by half and half principle by private Kolomna Locomotive Works and Sormovo Locomotive Works from 1890. It produced steam locomotive boilers at least up to 1915 to both owner companies. The last known delivery was 15 locomotive boilers for class Sv (Cv) 2-6-2 or 1C1-h2 type passenger locomotives to be delivered running on standard West European Gauge 1435 mm in Russian Poland, the Warsaw-Wien (Vienna) Railway. Due the Great War the locomotives were not delivered to Poland but diverted to Moscow-Kursk Railway where they run up to 1950´s.

The Kulebak Iron Works had also its own 1067 mm gauge narrow gauge railway from factory to Moscow Kazan Railway Company´s new main line (station Navashino) which run from Murom via Arzamas to Kazan. Later the gauge was changed to Soviet standard 1524 mm and Kulebak was also connected to by rail to Vyksa Iron Works. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.115.119.14 (talk) 14:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
