Origin is not Seoul, it’s China[edit]

Please update his origin. He’s not Korean or from Korea. Canadian Chinese from China 199.188.194.158 (talk) 06:41, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The “Origin” field specifically refers to the start of his career as a celebrity, not where he is born. Kris Wu specifically debuted as a member of a K-POP group, hence his origin of Seoul, South Korea. NasssaNsertalk 08:05, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There some wrong information he's accused by wrong and not serial raper[edit]

Wrong Gullaganm (talk) 18:38, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kris Wu was convicted of sexually assaulting three women in his home from November to December 2020.
His second charge was group promiscuity, which means he played threesome in his home on July 1, 2018.
Given the verdict, it is utterly inappropriate to call someone a serial raper.

The title serial raper should be cancelled. Rita Colmar (talk) 12:21, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If Kris had raped three women between Nov to December 2020 then he is a serial rapist. As serial rapist means multiple victims. Being convicted of it, makes him a convicted serial rapist so the edit seems acceptable. 103.210.125.52 (talk) 23:39, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your explanation. 58.153.62.238 (talk) 00:53, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The aThe appeal trial is still in progress. Unless you knew that the final verdict will remain unchanged wouldn't it be too early to add this comment ? d Rita Colmar (talk) 03:05, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 20 October 2023[edit]

In the chapter titled (Endorsements and ambassadorship). Add a paragraph that says, (In 2021, over a dozen brands, including Bulgari, Lancôme, Louis Vuitton and Porsche, had immediately ended ties with him after he was detained for the rape allegations.) Thanks in advance. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/nov/25/canadian-pop-star-kris-wu-sentenced-13-years-jail-rape-china 103.210.125.52 (talk) 23:33, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done I very slightly reworded the end of the request to say "... after his detainment for rape allegations" as usage of "the rape allegations" felt out of place. —Sirdog (talk) 04:08, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Date format consistency across multiple articles[edit]

Currently this article is using dmy date format, which was changed (with no contest apparently) in 2020 from the previous format of mdy that was set in 2016 by a now blocked sock master (Special:Diff/962496949). The article is now consistent on dmy dates.

There are two related article articles:

Which both are using mdy date format.

Personally, I think all three articles should use the same date format given that these are highly related, and it would be better for readers reading all of these articles to have a standardised format. Wikinav shows that there is a significant number of clickthroughs from this article here to the rape case article.

There are three options:

  1. standardise all to dmy format
This effectively acknowledges the 2020 change, and change the date format on the two articles above
  2. standardise all to mdy format
This effectively reverse the 2020 change.
  3. do nothing

I seek opinion from everyone who's interested. Thanks! – robertsky (talk) 04:32, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support changing this article back to MDY to be consistent with the closely related articles. There's not a rule that such consistency must happen, but it makes good WP:COMMONSENSE in a case like this of a trio of closely-related articles that readers are apt to skip back-and-forth between. That the artcle was changed to DMY without consensus and by a sock is a point in favor of the change back to MDY, though not a strong one, because a rather significant amount of time has passed after that change and WP:EDITCON is thus a consideration (and we don't just blindly undo everything ever done by someone who turned out to be a sock). But its prefectly reasonable for a consensus to come to a preference for MDY in this case, since either format used is kind of arbitrary for this subject, while consistency between the three articles is at least a minor benefit, at no cost to anyone other than a quick date conversion on one page.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  04:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
