New Info[edit]

Added source no.1 and 2. Source no.1 allows non-japaneses speakers to understand the system too. Please understand that there are almost no sources of info in english. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.178.219.18 (talk) 04:01, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THanks for adding the sources, especially the English one. I understand there's not much in English, but we still have to have sources here, whatever the language. Good work. - BillCJ 06:49, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

All sources refer to plane ether as P-X or XP-1. That is including Japanese article. If any other name become popular or official, then we can consider adopting it, but not now. TestPilottalk to me! 20:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a name, but a designation. "P-1" is the basic mission and model number, with "X" being the status. And have seen it listed as just "P-1" in several sources, IIRC, and "P-1" is still in the article in at least 4 places. But it's not worth revert-warring over, as from past experience you're never wrong. - BillCJ (talk) 11:25, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nah. You seems to be right. At least the most credible source, Jane, http://www.janes.com/extracts/extract/jawa/jawa5548.html refers to the program as Kawasaki P-1 and to prototypes planes as XP-1. But in this case entry sentence and combo box should be fixed? TestPilottalk to me! 08:23, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kawasaki P-1Kawasaki XP-1 – To reflect the name of the aircraft rather than the procurement program. Per Kawasaki Heavy Industries' own website: http://www.khi.co.jp/english/aero/product/airplanes/xp_1.html memphisto 12:36, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose the XP-1 is only the prototype, if it doesnt go into production it may be appropriate but it is certain the series build aircraft will be P-1s. MilborneOne (talk) 18:38, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
