Director jokes[edit]

Despite earning awards and positive review from critics, this movie has not gained enough traction to be called a Box Office Hit. When it was first released back in 2021, it did not earn attention as well. It was hoping to counter the movie "Maid in Malacañang" (MiM) but instead of attracting audiences it attracted dust.

Furthermore, the director of the movie claimed that their movie had gained 41.8M which he later retracted and said that the statement was just a joke. Please note that the actual earnings of this movie from 2021 and 2022 has yet to be released in public. In my opinion, the director of this movie was trying to ride the wave of fame of the very much anticipated MiM. To re-release a movie that has NO DEMAND is similar to insanity. 49.189.128.158 (talk) 04:33, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can go on and on about how your opinion is not needed on Wikipedia. You seem to be adding claims ("it did not gather much audience even when it was re-released") in your edits while linking to a source that does not even make such a claim. Even the source you linked to is highly unreliable at best, as it makes the claim that the film is being pulled out, yet there are still many cinemas showing the film. Unfortunately, sketchy sources aren't allowed on Wikipedia, nor is attempting to bring undue weight to the article ("Despite the awards, the film's actual and official earnings is yet to be release [sic] to the public", as if the earnings has any bearing on the film's awards). Your are free to contribute in a manner that respects Wikipedia's neutral point of view and with sources that aren't the online equivalent of tabloids. The movie director himself joked on his twitter account..there is nothing more reliable when the source itself is the person being cited in that article.

The Wikipedia entry lacks the section CONTROVERSIES. This movie had become controversial in 2022 because of its "aim to counter" another Maid in Malacañang which is cited in this Wikipedia entry. To continue the neutralilty of articles in Wikipedia, the outcome of this move must be presented to the public to show if it indeed was able to counter or failed to counter the other movie. In that way, the reader will have an overall view of what happened to the controversial "counter" move.
This talk entries are simply to shed light to information that is lacking in the Wikipedia entry which the author refuses to acknowledge. The folliwing information must be presented to the public.
1.Budget
2. Box Office (2021 and 2022)
Completeness of information is a MUST for all Wikipedia entries and this one is obviously lacking. 49.189.128.158 (talk) 05:51, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm unsure of the relevance of Tañada's joke here — Katips currently has no released total box office figures, that much is known. We don't have to mention it. We just have to wait for the number to appear, and then add it into the article. It's not a requirement for those to be disclosed to the general public anyway, only to authorities.
You are free to provide links to reliable sources regarding Katips' controversies. You are even free to add them into the article (of course, in a manner that does not introduce bias). If you have proof that Katips is controversial, and of course, not according to some fringe news website with barely any views or a known personality which peddles misinformation, you are more than free to provide it.
Completeness of information is not a must. Otherwise, we'd have garbage on articles. I suggest you first review Wikipedia's policies and guidelines before making such bold claims. The film never aimed to beat MiM in box office revenue, Tañada even admits this.[1] There is no reason for us to show "the outcome of this move"; its goal was to counter a movie that is (according to reliable sources and not fringe news websites) an attempt at historical distortion, not to counter its box office outcomes. Thinking this was a numbers game all along goes against the exact reason why this film released on August 3: it's a more accurate and factual retelling of the events during the martial law regime than the film it's going up against. I am unsure why the author has to mention the content of this movie since this is not the point of the Talk Entry. Furthermore, this movie alone cannot be considered as FACTUAL since it does not present all sides of the story. In fact, MiM is a complementary story to this movie which gives the audience the full picture from both sides. If I would be truly honest, I would recommend people watching both movies so that they would understand the historical events at that time from the view points of everyone.
Anyway, I am not, in anyway, contradicting this movie's contents or even the MiM. I am presentng my points so that the author will be able to give additional information to the overall performance of this movie; and the outcome of the controversial "countering". Simple as that. I think this is very simple to understand.
Anyway, here is an example of a multi-awarded that had controversies attached to it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Lady_(film). Maybe the author can learn a thing or two on how to write Wikipedia articles for movies like these. 49.189.128.158 (talk) 06:38, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And maybe you can actually prove Katips itself has controversies instead of pointing to other films that have them. And again, your opinion is not needed here. Chlod (say hi!) 06:41, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
