I've read the notability article, but I still don't understand what is or isn't "notabile". About the only way Von Hess would be notable is in his helping to advance the growth of television. In its early years, television looked far and wide for programming to fill the airwaves. Professional wrestling was a natural fit for TV during the 1950's, and it is widely considered to be instrumental (although obviously not solely responsible) to the rapid growth of the medium. Von Hess was one of the bigger draws to wrestling during that era. Looking at it that way, he would have been one of those who (indirectly) had an influence on TV's growth. Whether that makes him "notable" is another matter. This article is obviously a stub, meant to be the groundwork for others who are better-versed than me to expand upon.
