Karl V → Karl V (opera) – It's more appropriate. So Karl V can be redirected directly to Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor and not to the opera about him. Barjimoa (talk) 10:49, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

...Comment - would having a disambiguation page at the basename make sense, so readers can decide which (of the opera or the emperor) they're looking for? Just wondering people's thoughts on that possibility. Paintspot Infez (talk) 01:26, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
...Comment-reply – Given that the usual name used in English for the Emperor is "Charles V" rather than the German equivalent (whereas the opera is always referred to by the German name), that sounds reasonable to me.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 02:22, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- Consider that even Carlo V in Italian redirects to the Emperor. However, if a disambiguation is needed, we can redirect Karl V to the disambiguation page Charles V rather than creating a new one.
