A Fellow Native's insight

As a Brazilian I am aware of some of Kaká's characteristics which people in England and the USA are not exposed to. For instance, Kaká has quite a rep with the ladies in Brazil for his looks.

I was wondering if there is any place in the article for additions that pertain to obscure snippets like that; that pertain to his success and person but not necessarily to his carreer. Gukarma 00:06, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Accident

Vandalism

Marriage?

This was posted on the page as a title, "KAKA IS MARRIED TO NANCY MEDINA A MEXICAN GIRL WHOS 17TH YEARS OLD HE DIVORCED HIS LAST MARRIAGED". I don't know if this is true or not, and even if it is, it should not be in all caps listed as a section title. If this information can be verified, someone should write it back into the article. I've been looking in Google at both English and Portuguese websites, and can find nothing related to Kaka and anyone named Nancy Medina. Searching for Kaka and "casamento" (wedding) yields plenty of articles about a wedding to the woman listed in the wikipedia article (http://ofuxico.uol.com.br/Materias/Noticias/noticia_7565.htm)... Why 'Rodrigo Izecson Santos Leite' redirects to Kaká? It's his brother, Digao's name. It should be redirect to Digao.

Kaká's Christianity

Despite being part of the Born-again Christians group, this article is strangely mum about Kaká's Christianity. The most it does is allude to it in the part about his injury and the fact that he stayed a virgin until he was married. (The part about his virginity isn't an obvious allusion, though, and may very well confuse some people....) I don't see how the article can be complete without it -- it's obvious that it's a big part of his life. Wasn't he known for wearing shirts that said stuff like "I belong to Jesus" that he would show off when he scored goals (before FIFA passed that no-shirtless celebrations rule)?

Kaká Converted to Islam?

So we've recently been flooded with changes in the article saying that Kaká converted to Islam. They were so numerous that I wondered if they were the persistent effort of a few people in the same place to make that change, but ip lookups suggested against this. I checked kakafans.net to see if they had anything on it, and the webmistress there reported that she received a lot of emails asking if it's true. From the comments section of the post where she said that, it came out that it has been reported in the Arabic world Kaká converted.

But that left the question: if this is true, why haven't the Italian and Brazilian media pick it up (if not the English)? I did Google news searches to see if they did but we just missed it. Searches in Brazilian Portuguese revealed nothing, but I found two articles for Italian, only one of which I could access. That one is from goal.com's Italian section. After some "reading" and rereading, applying the bit of Spanish I know (they say the languages are close), and consulting altavista.com and freetranslation.com (the latter seems better at Italian to English translations), I think I have a good idea of what the article is saying.

The title reads something like

"Kaka is Muslim." The Brazilian: "It isn't true."

The article says that Milan released an interview (or report?) in which Kaká denied conversion to Islam, saying that Jesus is the greatest champion he knows. It then apparently goes on to say that a conversion would've been "sensational" and the rumour was already being welcomed in the Arabic Muslim world.

Perhaps if the changes persist we can put something in the main article, at least for a while, saying that it was only a rumour that has been denied by Kaká himself. ~ Hairouna 03:05, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Well you can see, that all the user that add those information are not a regular wiki editor, nor they have username, most of them are just random ip adress. Therefore, i think those edit can't be considered true enough as a rumour. Martin tamb 17 October 2006
