2009[edit]

Information is being added to this page to comply with the Wikipedia guidelines. Information will be added regarding the application centric management approach for cloud computing pioneered by Kaavo. Kaavo has received coverage in independent media. Will add the information shortly to comply with the "Notability" standards as well. Sorry for entering the initial page without complying to the policies, it is quite impressive how promptly the entries are evaluated as delete tag was added within minutes of creation of the article. Look forward to improving this page to make sure it is consistent with Wikipedia guidelines.

Please have a look at the wikipedia linking guidelines too. I've rolled back all the crosslinks to this article because until there is something worth linking to. Currently this article reads like marketing blurb. Any claim criticising "traditional datacentre management tooling" on wikipedia has to be able to defend that claim, otherwise it's meaningless and the deletion would be justified. To survive this article needs

An unbiased presentation "The vendor claims that ...."
Someone who is not a representative of the company to do the writeup
The companies one product should be merged in to this page.
Someone to look at the notability requirements and decide if this page's subject is currently up to it.

Given the quality of the current prose, it may be best to delete this page and all links, then, if the company becomes notable, let the text and links be added by users. Copyrighted material?[edit]

The text beginning "In an application-centric cloud management approach, you..." seems to be a substantial copy of material at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/cloud/library/cl-kaavoimod/?ca=drs- , I'm not sure if that's enough for a {{copyvio}} tag. COI tag[edit]

Most of my commits to the article are merely adding relevant 3rd party references to the material, I don't think I have committed any write-up or personal opinion which is controversial or one sided. I request that we should either remove the COI tag or someone specifically point out the sections or sentences violating the neutral point of view policy. Camk43 02:35, 18 February 2011 (GMT)

I don't work for the company, I have been following it for a while and get Google alerts on it. I have also played with the online version of their product. My personal opinion of the company is very favorable as I believe they are doing something which is quite unique and cool. In my opinion the space the company is in (Cloud Management Software) is very important and the company is contributing an important solution to the space. I don't think I injected my personal opinions in the article.Camk43 (talk) 16:17, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It is a different way of looking & solving the deployment/management automation problem, compared to how we were doing this in pre-cloud days by various tools like SmartFrog, Puppet, ... The closest to what these guys are doing is the recent announcement of CloudFormation service by Amazon.Camk43 (talk) 15:16, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
