Someone wants more information about KFXP-TV from sign on to the disaffiliation from Fox. The reality is that there is little to tell. The station signed on channel 31 analog and then flash cut to digital transmission when the FCC mandated changeover kicked in. KPVI-TV moved to the Sherman St. studios with space for an additional station and built out the technical area for KFXP. They have always operated and sold it.

The only programming history of note is the news broadcast, no other local content has aired on the station. There was some concern around the time of sign-on about receiving the signal north of Idaho Falls mostly because of NFL football coverage since UHF does not travel as far as VHF and no translators were built. Local cable systems and satellite TV providers (eventually, at the same time they picked up KIDK/KIFI/KPVI/KISU) picked up the signal for retransmission. It replaced the national feed of Fox programming on Cable One.

Please note, this archived article also contains a brief history about the entry of Fox into eastern Idaho broadcast on KIDK-TV (1993) and moving back to cable TV only. http://www.postregister.com/story.php?accnum=00895-07161998&today=1998-07-16 (July 16, 1998 - News Sections of Post Register.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.237.183.163 (talk) 03:28, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
