This page deserves a See Also section[edit]

To clarify a point that has been the subject of an edit war, the relevant documentation for See Also sections on disambiguation pages is Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages#"See also" section. It specifically mentions terms that could be confused with the title of this page. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 19:03, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stuff on a disambig page needs to be actually in use - if you can demonstrate the use of KL as an abbreviation for "Kings Lynn" etc - then please provide the link etc
The same goes for Women's List which doesn't mention KL on the page, OR, on the icelandic page - without further information I can only assume it is an invention and therefor - not likely
Ditto KL 1 , KL 2 etc - if there is any evidence that people with type KL for these then show it. The page is not for any article beginning with (prefix) - Template:Look from can be usef for this
Ditto Royal Netherlands Army - if it is a likely taget why is the abbreviation not mentioned on the page or on the dutch wikipedia page.
For synklepton the abbreviation is "sk"
All this is already explicitly covered in the manual of style, I have already checked the items I removed, but am open to more information - but not unverifyable assertations.Oranjblud (talk) 21:25, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Two of these are documented on the wikipedia pages, KL for Kirkland Lake is on the page, and is an obvious abbreviation given the existence of KLG. The abbreviation of synklepton as kl. is on the page pointed to, so if you doubt that, take the matter up there. As for the other items that don't yet have a lot of coverage in wikipedia, your attitude is destroying information just because it is incomplete, a very unhelpful approach in my opinion. it is trivial to verify that sk is an abbreviation for synklepton https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=synklepton+sk&sugexp=chrome,mod=9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 - the page klepton is not explicit - another source states "The abbreviation "kl" stands for "klepton" (Greek: thiet) because Rana esculenta behaves in fact like a thief." - the redirect from klepton to edible frog is non-nonsensical and needs deleting - I have no idea if the unreferenced information in the incorrectly linked article is correct or not.
As for Kirkland Gate - the use of KLG for Kirland Gate Gold is irrelevant. I found no significant usage of KL for Kirland Gate in the article or online - There is a single instance of the use of KL as an abbreviation in the article - a long way down, which is likely be someones invention shorthand, rather than representing actual use.
For something to appear in a disambiguation page it needs to be a term that is likely to be used without qualification. Again if you can provide a single example of the use of KL for Kirkland Gate in a context were it is not immediately next to the full name please provide an example.Oranjblud (talk) 16:05, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
