Success[edit]

This article really should mention their success from 1975 to 1980, not gloss over it by saying "well, they were successful, and that's all you need to know." Mike H (Talking is hot) 23:48, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The band also had a fan club -- I know from personal experience as my sister and I were members and we received shiny membership cards -- and they literally dominated New Year's Eve on television in 1975-76. Halkias[edit]

I remember a few interviews of Greek traditional clarinet player Petroloukas Halkias, where he mentioned that "That's The Way (I Like It)" was actually a reworking of an improvisation of his by Harry Wayne Casey, who, during a jam session, pretty much told Halkias "I'll take this riff of yours and show you how it can become a massive hit". Actually, I happen to have an issue of Greek Hi-Fi and music magazine "Ήχος Εικόνα" (Sound Vision - http://www.hxos.gr) where he reiterates this story laying around somewhere. It doesn't look like he's laying any claim to profits from that single's sales (as he's been too busy exploring improvisations and crossovers between traditional Greek and Indian music over the past years); it seems more like he's trying to encourage other Greek musicians to go out there and try their luck in the international market. Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve[edit]

Some mention should be made of their appearances on Dick Clark's new years eve shows. I think they made at least 3 live appearances with at least one replay of a previous performance of "get down tonight" in a year they weren't live. I've heard them enough on new years eve over the years that "get down tonight", and to a lesser extent "shake shake shake" had become the difinitive sounds of the new years eve experience.

Adhere to the facts... and not history as YOU see it, Moderator![edit]

It is requested that the CORRECT founding and origins of "KC and The Sunshine Band" be reflected on this page. The band was co-founded by both Mr. Casey and by my client, Richard Finch. Whomever is editing this page is doing Mr. Casey a great disservice by altering historical facts (which Mr. Casey also details in his own autobiography) while also erasing my client's part in co-founding this ensemble which is well documented in the entertainment industry and throughout other media outlets, both in print and on the Internet.

I will also bring this site to the attention Mr. David Bercuson (Mr. Casey's legal counsel) who is also adamant (as are we) about adhering to the facts and not upon independent speculation on the part of whomever is ineffectively maintaining the online presence of Mr. Casey and/or KC and the Sunshine Band here on Wikipedia.

I would also like to bring to your attention that there are significant grammatical errors throughout your postings, which is disrespectful to Mr. Casey, his known level of professionalism and to the legacy he co-created with my client. I hope in the future that Mr. Casey will require you to pass all updates and materials through him first for an editor's review vs. you being allowed to post any additional missives not befitting his legacy and reputation for excellence. For current members - is alphabetical by last name preferred?
For past members - is it by section, then alphabetical by last name?
What is the preferred capitalization of instrument: (Percussion) or (percussion). Does capitalization have meaning?
