a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Lead[edit]

  • " He also spent time on loan to Norwich City of the Championship (two spells)," - twice

Early life and career[edit]

Middlesborough and loans[edit]

  • "After impressing both as captain of the reserve team" - wikilink reserve team to Middlesbrough F.C. Reserves and Academy
  • "and he made a further eleven appearances for City," - them
  • "In June 2010, Grounds extended his Boro contract" - Middlesborough; try not to use nicknames of clubs
  • "and opened the scoring in a League Cup match against Kilmarnock that Hibs" - same issue as above
  • "Although Hibs wanted to extend the loan," - again same problems at the third and fourth points

Birmingham City[edit]

  • "According to the Birmingham Mail's end-of-season review," - mention the author of the end-of-season review
  • "Going into 2016–17," - Going into the 2016–17 campaign,
  • "returned to the matchday squad on 3 April, and returned to the pitch to start the visit to" - came back

A nicely written article overall. Only minor issues are present. MWright96 (talk) 12:21, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your review. I think I've dealt with all your points, apart from linking scholarship to athletic scholarship.
A scholarship in English football is a two-year period beginning when the young person leaves school at 16, during which they continue their education, doing A levels or a vocational course just as any school-leaver might, but in addition they have a formal relationship with a club and train with that club on an increasingly serious basis. The athletic scholarship article deals with the system common in US sports, where the young person continues their sports development in a university environment regulated by the NCAA, playing in college sport, and only after that gets drafted onto a pro team (or not). Linking to that wouldn't be much use to a reader wanting to find out more about the English system. Youth system ought to do it, but it doesn't. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:42, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Struway2: The athletic scholarship link is no deal-breaker so I will be promoting this article to GA class. MWright96 (talk) 17:37, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
