Irrelevant personal information[edit]

The "Personal Life" section currently reads "Lovett is gay. He also has a dog named Pundit." I haven't removed it because nothing in the WP:BLP explicitly forbids it. However, I don't believe that the name of his dog belongs in his encyclopedia page, and I think it's offensive to have an entire section where you explicitly state that someone is gay when you would not do the same for a straight person (I have never seen a single article that out of nowhere states that the subject "is straight"). This information is also covered by the categories that we assign this page to; when I wrote it I immediately placed it in the LGBT Jews Category among others, so it's not like we are hiding or ignoring this information.

Can somebody please defend for me why this information belongs in an encyclopedia page? Otherwise I will soon remove it. Astrophobe (talk) 19:57, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A person’s sexuality is not irrelevant, headlines are made nearly daily of people coming out as anything but heterosexual. People as a rule don’t generate headlines for being straight, they do for being gay, ergo it is covered in reliable sources as a notable fact about them. A Joke[edit]

There's a pretty funny joke on this page. I don't want to remove it because it's beautiful. Well done, anonymous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.21.165.32 (talk) 20:15, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life[edit]

Lovett has a dog named pundit who is an angel. Lovett has been romantically linked to Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Ronan Farrow. KLM0816 (talk) 20:49, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bullshit. Lovett's heart obviously belongs to the one and only Spencer. (unsigned) 21:42, 4 Aug 2018 (UTC)
