Identity[edit]

Have I succeeded in conflating two people of the same name? Rayment gives the MP's dates as 1787-1859? Peterkingiron (talk) 22:45, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Afraid so. The Maj-Gen. of RE was the 1797-1864 one, son of Robert Walpole. (See obit.) The diplomat and MP lived 1787-1859, son of Horatio Walpole, 2nd Earl of Orford; see obit.) Choess (talk) 21:45, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I think things are fixed now. We don't have any inbound links that pertain to the Maj-Gen. of RE; I'm inclined to think him non-notable. Choess (talk) 15:57, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fine by me. I was trying to deal with the diplomat, but could not find him in Burke. Peterkingiron (talk) 13:34, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
