Glaring Silence as to WWI Service[edit]

I understand that even for VVC recipients there’s a limit to how comprehensive we can expect service record to be, especially when a good century and then some have passed. However, the brief information provided her makes it clear that he was an active officer during World War I. I cannot help but comment that the lack of any details regarding what he did during this time is perplexing. Even if he did nothing, I would imagine readers of this type of Wikipedia entry would be very appreciative of a few lines on this subject.
