rename to Johann Hermann Schein?[edit]

We never call this composer Johann Schein, so I think the article should be renamed. Thoughts? Rp (talk) 19:11, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose It is true that many times Hermann is included, but other times it is not; most importantly, the current title is concise enough to establish who it is since there are no other notables with this name. The search with the highest returns is the current title, which unambiguously points to this subject. StonyBrook (talk) 23:24, 8 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
After some Googling, I'm not convinced those who omit it are musicians or familiar with his work. By your second argument, Wikipedia should have an article Wolfgang Mozart - googling for that unambiguously points to articles about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with his Wikipedia article as my #1 hit. I agree, most Wikipedias offer him a middle name, including German, and practically everybody then was Johann. Let's do the same. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:18, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, I agree too -- as the author of the original article, not that it matters -- not sure why I left the middle name out. He's Johann Hermann Schein. Antandrus (talk) 16:50, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
