Translation

I have copied the text form the article on the German Wikipedia page, and some of the functions, edits and references have defeated me today. I hope others will improve this article. Stauffer is a significant luthier, not just in Austria. --Design (talk) 11:24, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

In the future, it would be better to put the machine translation in your user space while you work on it. I think you'll agree that machine translations normally produce a hot mess, like the present article, rather than coherent English.

I am moving the machine text to User:Alarob/Stauffer, except for a short definition paragraph. Let's work on it there until it is good shape.

substantial problems

For instance, As of 2014 such "Stauffer style" machine heads are still made by the UK company Rodgers Tuning Machines. As of 2018, there's no actual description in the article of wtf "Stauffer style" is, and the website is defunct. This will be edited.

The article (such as it is) is weasel-prone: At 15 years of age he went to Vienna to allegedly complete an apprenticeship with Stauffer, albeit proof for this apprenticehip is still lacking. … His relationship apparently cooled with Stauffer, and Martin returned to work in his father's workshop. This will be removed.
