datx gud[edit]

I am a a part of a group that will be revising this page for our I/O Psychology class at Ball State University. We will concentrate on revising and making additions to the definition of Job Analysis, as well as the purpose, methods, and systems of Job Analysis. We welcome any feedback on other areas of content that should be added to this article, as well as areas that we need to improve.

Good idea. This article really needs improvement. Please remember, that job analysis is not only a part of I/O Psychology. See Industrial engineering also. Foe your class you need to include for example Frederick Herzberg or the Job-Diagnostic-Survey by Hackman and Oldham (Hackman, Richard; Oldham, Greg R.: Development of the job diagnostic survey. In: Journal of Applied Psychology 60(1975)2, S. 159 - 170 ; Hackman, J. Richard; Oldham, Greg R.: Work Redesign (Organization Development). Upper Saddle River (New Jersey): Prentice Hall, 1980. - ISBN 978-0-201-02779-2), and some more.
If you look in some Books of Motion and Time Study, like Fred Meyers/James Stewart or Marvin Mundel/David Danner you can find aspects of job analysis as well. -- Tasma3197 (talk) 09:10, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the advice! We are currently searching for various scholarly articles which discuss different aspects of job analysis. Your suggestions are great, and we will look into including those in the article. Mnshumate (talk) 16:53, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you need a hand with the technical side (ie. how to cite sources in wikipedia), just ask... bobrayner (talk) 17:31, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, we appreciate any help along the way! Mnshumate (talk) 20:02, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Changes[edit]

I have recently made many changes to this article which I hope have improved overall quality. There are still things that need to be added/improved, but I have gotten started. I began by changing the introduction by rewording the definition and adding a little bit of background information. I also changed the heading name from "Methods" to "Procedures" because I felt that it was more fitting. I added a lot of information to the procedures section, and took some of the information from the systems section and relocated it to the procedures section because it made more sense. I have made sure to add more sources, and plan to add more eventually. One thing that I am concerned about is some information without sources. Before I began editing, one of the sources that a previous editor used was not specifically noted throughout the page. It is listed under the "additional source" section, but I am not sure what information belongs to that source. Hopefully, someone can help me out with this. I am working to modify this article for a senior level Psychology lab at Clemson University. I am going to start editing it, and welcome any input you might have. Asolaks (talk) 16:24, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am planning on greatly improving the introduction section, elaborating more with examples of how job analysis is utilized, and adding more information about JASR. I also am working to edit any sentence structure or grammatical issues in order to make the article make more sense. Please give me any suggestions or input you may have. Asolaks (talk) 17:42, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just edited the page that I was required to for my Psychology lab. I added a good bit of information, including some new sections. I did not delete much information, but rather just re-arranged it in a way that made more sense. I expanded a lot of sections also and went into more detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asolaks (talkcontribs) 15:35, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am continuing to modify this article for my educational requirements. I plan to focus on shaping up the sections as well as adding more content. Once again, I invite any input other editors may have in order to improve the article. Asolaks (talk) 14:31, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference formatting[edit]

I noticed that some of the new material is sprinkled with plain-text footnote numbers ([4]) instead of Wikipedia-style footnote numbers ([4]). This needs fixing by someone who knows which source each reference is supposed to be referring to. The proper syntax for this is described at WP:NAMEDREFS. -- John of Reading (talk) 12:02, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have added more information and sections as a final part of my educational requirements. I did not delete any other information, but instead just added more that I felt improved the overall credibility and quality of the article. Asolaks (talk) 16:51, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
