The Damned version?

The Damned never recorded "Jet Boy". But it was Captain Sensible and The Softies in July 1978. See MySpace.com!!! 81.244.55.174

There is definitely a live version by The Damned, but while there are quite a few references to a single version, the only solid reference seems to be a split single with the Damned's "Waiting For the Blackout" on the A side and Captain Sensible's "Jet Boy Jet Girl" on the other. I also have a vinyl compilation that lists a Damned version of the song as the last track, but now I wonder if it's an error. The collection is long out of print. Backing track

This bit isn't clear. Did Bertrand record his vocals onto the backing track that had already been recorded for Motello's version, or was it re-recorded using the same musicians? Thomjakobsen 16:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I've heard it both ways, but haven't found a reliable source. "Ça Plane Pour Moi" is played a half-step up, but everything in it is a half-step up, including the drums. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it's the same recording-- the pitch could've been adjusted after the fact. Fullobeans (talk) 04:23, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

I had heard that Alain Ward ss I knew him(Alan Timms) was the singer on Ca Plane Pour Moi. When the band Bastard existed I roadied for them in a van I bought from him. I heard that some of the band went to Belgium and Alain became a sound engineer. Jet Boy, Jet Girl may well have been recorded by The Damned as Brian James was in Bastard, punk was an improvement on Bastard's music as this was circa 1971-2. Nobby Goff a drummer was also in Bastard and could have joined Brian in Damned. I think that Alain might have been influenced by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown as he was vocalist in a band that supported them in Worthing a few weeks before Fire was released. Recently there has been discussion about who sang on Ce Plane Pour Moi. It was mentioned on Radio 2 recently.

NY Dolls Song

Is the similarity in title to the earlier New York Dolls song "jet boy" a coincidence, or does anyone know if it was an homage? Also, I din't see anything in Wiki but was there some japanese cartoon called Jet Boy?

Orphaned references in Jet Boy, Jet Girl

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Jet Boy, Jet Girl's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
