Notability[edit]

This page is primarily based on the same UCLA source. I'd like to open up a discussion here on the Talk Page regarding the notability of this page and whether it is significant enough to have an article on Wikipedia. I wouldn't consider Jesse Byock to be a public figure. I'm not finding a significant amount of information that would be considered to be notable/inclusive for an encyclopedia. Just some comments[edit]

First, Jesse Byock is not a History professor; he is a professor in the Scandinavian Studies section of the German department at UCLA.

Secondly, the page was created by a user with multiple IDs all of whom have been banned.

I suspect this is an example of a paid placement.

Professor Byock is a perfectly typical humanities professor. He's not really a major figure, even in the field of Old Norse or Viking studies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.67.51 (talk) 03:20, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
