No reference to Emmanuelle Charpentier

Emmanuelle Charpentier is mentioned in the article but there is no article about her neither in Swedish or in English Wikipedia. There is (old) mention of her in German and French Wikipedia. Since the two have shared prizes for the last years I think that there should be articles about both in both Swedish and English Wikipedia. I also think that both are on the way to be at least Nobel prize candidates. This link (sadly enough In Swedish) is some of my reasons for wanting to have both (Jennifer Doudna and Emmanuelle Charpentier) in wiipedia! Confusion on date of birth

 The first sentence of the article says that Jennifer Doudna was born on February 19, 1964  - but when one goes to the categories, she is categorised as a 1963 birth. Vorbee (talk) 08:31, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Synchrotron

In the section University of California, Berkeley, it is said "In 2002, she accepted a faculty position at University of California, Berkeley as a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology so that she would be closer to family and the synchrotron at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory." But no explanation is given for the significance of being close to the synchrotron. To me, the association seems, at first, to be odd, though if I stretch, I might imagine significance. University of California, San Francisco

I have checked her CV. There is no evidence that Jennifer Doudna is a prof. at University of California, San Francisco. Some media outlets have copied information from this Wikipedia page and claimed that she is a prof. at UCSF. However, if you check her CV and other reliable sources carefully, there is no such evidence. Ber31 (talk) 03:40, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Further source checking shows that she is actually a professor at U.C. Berkeley which is accurately reflected in the article. See https://news.berkeley.edu/2020/10/07/jennifer-doudna-wins-2020-nobel-prize-in-chemistry/. She is the first women from U.C. Berkeley who is on the faculty to be awarded the Nobel Prize. However, she works at the Innovative Genomics Institute, which is a joint venture between the University of California, San Francisco and U.C. Berkeley. This is where the confusion may be coming from. Good point. Innovative Genomics Institute is a joint venture between UC Berkeley and UCSF. She is from the UC Berkeley side at Innovative Genomics Institute. She isn't a prof. at UCSF. Ber31 (talk) 04:58, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

I have found the source. She is an adjunct professor of cellular and molecular pharmacology at UCSF.[3] However, she is not a full prof. at UCSF. Ber31 (talk) 05:40, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

She is an investigator at the Gladstone Institutes, and all investigators there are also professors at UCSF. Part of the lab is there. Eccekevin (talk) 23:01, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Importance

This is probably for the individual WikiProjects to discuss, but why is Doudna's article considered "high" importance when her 2020 Nobel co-winner Emmanuelle Charpentier is "mid" importance in the same categories? As recognized by the Nobel, their work and contributions are comparable, so would think they should be of similar or the same importance level. - Indefensible (talk) 06:42, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Indefensible, WikiProject importance ratings are notoriously inconsistent. They also don't affect much, so I wouldn't put a ton of stock in them. Feel free to raise Charpentier or lower Doudna to make them match if you want. {{u|Sdkb}} ^talk 22:19, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

WP:CITEVAR problems introduced via Template:Cite Q

Some WP:CITEVAR problems were introduced to this article via this edit in early 2022. They caused author names in citations to be displayed in "Firstname Lastname" format instead of the consensus "Lastname, Firstname" format used in this article. Two ways to fix these problems are to reintroduce the previous citation templates, or to add |last= and |first= to the {{Cite Q}} templates as needed, per that template's documentation.
