I wrote a heading a few hours ago, and made the mistake of not writing a fuller article. I have now written a fuller article that is as detailed as many of the other vodka pages. What is the problem?

I have tried to model this page on other vodka pages, for example Belvedere. I will be pleased to adapt and would be grateful for any comments as to what is of special concern. Thanks.

Try to stay a neutral point of view, establish notability, etc. I changed the speedy to a prod, which means you have 5 days to improve the deletion. I'll keep an eye on the article and will be willing to help you out. Yanksox 20:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll certainly make it more neutral, but it's a great vodka: see the review (which establishes notability, doesn't it?). Can you have a look later tonight or maybe Saturday? Alanmoss 20:38, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P Well, you do have something at the bottom which helps to establish that. I'll take a look every now and then. Remember: Cite your sources![1] Yanksox 20:40, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two external documents backing up my comments. Have I done this correctly? Alanmoss 20:57, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'm going to play around with it a little. You can also cite the source by selecting a passage and [place your link here]. Yanksox 21:00, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll study how you do it, so that I can learn! Alanmoss 21:01, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lol, I'm not really an expert. :P I actually went over the article and it's pretty solid to begin with. I just did some minor edits, but it's decent. Yanksox 21:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edited your edit: put the reference in the right place. At what stage, does this page lose its may require "clean-up" status? Alanmoss 21:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I had the reference there was to prove that fact, but as long as it's on the page, it's cool. The cleanup tag is more of a thing that I see. The middle section seems somewhat jarred, but this article is much better than what it originally was. You did a good job! Yanksox 21:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User Ridow seems to have changed many of the vodka pages to add the phrase "high price." I think this comment is not objective

Please discuss changes here. Alanmoss 21:46, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the color of the packaging and the price of the vodka are the only objective parameters. I've replace "premium" an "ultra-premium" by "high-priced" for all vodkas. I've left other information untouched but in my opinion most of the articles for the different brands are pure advertisement.

"High price" is also not objective. You yourself state "In my opinion." I agree that this is an opinion. But just because you have a vendetta (or whatever it is) against vodkas that you personally find expensive does not give you the right to change all those pages. The phrase "high price" is entirely subjective and WP is not supposed to be subjective. Are you going to add that phrase for every entry on everything on Wikipedia that you find expensive or that costs more than 20 or 30 dollars? Cars, perfume, champagne, malt whiskies, Ipods, etc etc? I am happy to have a debate along standard WP guidelines, but simply adding "high price" to all the pages is not the way to move forward. I am inclined to move this debate to where it belongs, i.e. to your user page, but let's see your answers here first. Alanmoss 13:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alan. In a sens you are right, "High price" too is not that objective. It would make sense to remove it for all these articles but it is certainly more objective than "ultra premium". I've nothing against cheap or expensive vodka, there is indeed a market for all these products. My personnal experience is that in the field of vodka the taste is such a constant that marketing has the upper-hand. The "in my opinion" was about articles which sounds like advertising: a WP-guideline is "Do not write an article about the company you are working for". There is a tendancy in WP to using it as a marketing tool and a lot of vodkas articles are formulated by people close to the products.

I am changing it to state "premium vodka:" this is the term you will find in the drinks trade magazines. "Premium" indicates it is more expensive, but it does not have the emotive element of "high price." It may not satisfy everyone. Alanmoss 15:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
