some little details[edit]

"To this day it is very difficult to obtain one of Hallier's books anywhere but in a few independent libraries."
I guess amazon is an independent library ? As well as all the others french libraries I've recently visited ?
"In 1991, L'Idiot international was one of the only newspapers to criticize the Gulf War,"
The only one with all the others who criticized the Gulf War. POV.
"He had earlier published Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses (1988), and personally delivered a copy of the book to the Iranian embassy in Paris"
It's not mentioned on the ref link. On the other hand, it is well known that the editor of Salma rushdie, Christian Bourgeois, attacked him in defamation, and won.
"He had to sell his flat in order to pay 4 millions Francs to Bernard Tapie, charged of defamation [1]"
I don't know if he had to sell his flat, but he had to pay 400 000 Francs, not 4 millions. There's a little difference. And by the way, your sentence seems to imply that Tapie was the one charged of defamation.
He also commandited less serious "attacks", such as setting fire to Françoise Mallet-Joris's doormat.
I guess the quotation marks are here to make people understand that it was just a joke and nobody's harmed ? Well, it could have been much worse than that. It was not intended to be just a small fire.
Not a word about his convictions for anti-semistic offenses and defamation of Kiejman and Jack Lang ? tmemmon (talk) 19:51, 19 August 2008 (UTC)).[reply]
