I have reverted the edits made by 168.184.243.83 because they chopped material in the middle and accidentally ended up with nonsense.

I realise that this anonymous user probably felt that the information about Newby's father (whose name is not given in the book from which I sourced the article) was irrelevant.

However I wished to preserve the information about both Newbys, which, if Newby is giving an accurate unembellished account of his father and himself, seemed significant for African-American history/biography. The book is rarely to be found, even in libraries, so this article will be the only place where this information is readily available.

I have incorporated one of the spelling edits made by Welsh; the other, changing Arica to Africa was simply incorrect! --PeterR 13:44, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
