Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <This article is about a FLDS Bishop, this is verified by reliable sources, thus he is a notable religious leader per WP requirements. This individual has also received substantial coverage from reliable sources detailing both how he is a Bishop of the FLDS, and substantial coverage (again, from multiple reliable sources) for his legal defense of polygamy. Speedy delete[edit]

I'll have to agree with the speedy delete. Being a FLDS Bishop is not notable by itself. FLDS bishop would be comparable to a Catholic priest or Lutheran minister. Being excommunicated from FLDS is nothing special and being arrested is nothing special. Bgwhite (talk) 21:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bishop[edit]

This individual overseas the FLDS movement in Canada, specifically Bountiful. His arrest is special in that it was covered by multiple reliable sources over the course of a few years. This is a clear keep. Please answer how this does not meet WP:GNG? This is clearly a notable religious leader who has received substantial media coverage from multiple verifiable reliable sources. Also, MSNBC wrote 2 Canadian polygamist leaders arrested. Again, maybe not notable for good deeds, but this person is still an FLDS bishop, and also an individual who has recieved a lot of attention from multiple verifiable reliable sources. Thanks. Note The last reference states that, "The case against the two members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), was seen as the first major test of Canada's polygamy law..."
