– I am seeing no reason that the article on the basketball player should be primary over all people with this name on the disambiguation page. BD2412 T 21:49, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination [or rather, per the streamlined James MaysJames Mays (basketball)]. There are six men named "James Mays" or "Jimmy Mays" listed upon the James Mays (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the renown of the basketball player and coach is at such a level that it exceeds the combined notability of the remaining five men. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 02:59, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, of course, (basketball). BD2412 T 23:19, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support the basketball player has more views than the other James Mayses listed but Jayma Mays (who's father is "James Mays") has 22,348 views compares with 355[[1]] for the basketball player. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:19, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move to James Mays (basketball) the reasoning is sound but the acceptable DAB is “basketball” not “basketball player.” Rikster2 (talk) 05:00, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
