WP:MUSICBIO[edit]

Open the discussion here instead of meaningless reverts in editing. Jackson has three solo releases (Quote WP:MUSICBIO:such as solo releases), one of it had been on China V Chart (Cooperated with Billboard). --AddisWang (talk) 15:56, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The China V Chart is a single-vendor chart. MUSICBIO requires "the activity independent of the band, such has solo releases" to demonstrate notability; I'm not seeing evidence that these solo releases did that. T. Canens (talk) 19:00, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Timotheus Canens: So in any circumstance a single-vendor chart has absolute no way to identify the notability? Any recommendation of which chart in China is acceptable? Besides that, his three solo releases (one is before join the band) are all independent of the band, I don't understand what kind of evidence needed to prove it? He acted in several TV Series, and has various awards, none of these is related with the band.--AddisWang (talk) 07:04, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What MUSICBIO says is that the activity independent of the band (such as the solo releases), considered alone, must meet one of its criteria. The V Chart doesn't show that, since WP:SINGLEVENDOR is pretty clear that single-vendor charts cannot be used for the charting criterion, but I'm open to being convinced that something else does. I'm not familiar enough with Chinese charts to recommend any, sorry, but the basic criteria in WP:CHART is fairly straightforward. T. Canens (talk) 07:33, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Timotheus Canens: How about this Billboard Radio China thing? The first is Jackson's solo release Li Sao.--AddisWang (talk) 12:19, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That looks OK on its face, at least. Thanks for finding it. T. Canens (talk) 01:55, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Timotheus Canens: Great! Glad its worked out! Thanks for helping!--AddisWang (talk) 16:26, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Surname as Yee or Yi[edit]

His name in mainstream media and affiliation normally announced him as Jackson Yi, I think this matter needs some investigation. Ernestchuajiasheng (talk) 11:03, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. It should be Jackson Yi. Philologick (talk) 17:21, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

易烊千玺 照片更改 Photo Change Jackson Yee[edit]

Grammar Problems and reverts of new edits[edit]

What is wrong with the reverts of editing in proper grammar for the page? The sentence structure concerning how he joined TF Entertainment in the 1st paragraph should be edited. Moreover, the search history shows that while some new edits that were added are without source and should be deleted, most are actually new achievements Jackson achieved throughout 2018. Why are some people deleting other people's edits so blatantly and dubbing them as "complete puffery"?

1. Jackson's new songs - Don't Tie Me Down, 親愛的,這裡沒有一個人, 恆溫動物, 舒適圈 and Nothing To Lose - Unplugged are NOT singles, they all from his new album 我乐意沉默释放内心焰火. The creation of a new "albums" section was deleted and songs were changed as singles by another wiki editor.

2. Jackson IS the main dancer of TFBoys. Not sure why indicating that and the genres of dances that he specialises in was edited out. Not sure if the Han Yu part was necessary for this page, but Han Yu did mention that about Jackson and if it helps with enhancing the information that it should stay.

3. A whole section of Jackson's ambassador roles and endorsements were deleted when there were proper citations, with the editor indicating "non-notable celebrity promo"?

4. Jackson created a 3.5m sculpture that was showcased during his 18th Adult Ceremony as a gift for his brother and fans. This should be edited into the page. [1]

5. Jackson's success in entering The Central Academy of Drama after achieving with the highest scores is also edited out.

Jackson's Wiki page should be one filled with properly researched and factual information on who Jackson is. It should be a page where international fans that don't understand Chinese can come to know more about him. Restricting new (factual) information about him is something that should be discussed.

Orphaned references in Jackson Yee[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Jackson Yee's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
