Advert[edit]

Page appears to have been written by this museums PR man, and contains multiple issues : reads like an advert, copypaste from museums website, peacock and weasel words and lacks inline citations. Panderoona (talk)

Validity as a museum[edit]

There has been debate in the museums community^[1] about the Jack the Ripper Museum about if it should be classified as a museum or a tourist attraction. It is not an accredited museum and thus not recognised as such by the Museums Association, AIM or any other organisations in the heritage sector. Here's a critical review from the Londonist^[2]. Should the classification be changed from Museums in London to Tourist attractions in London? Rather than unilaterally change the category, I thought it best to seek consensus as it is a controversial issue. I am not connected with JtRM in any way, nor do I speak on behalf of the MA or any relevant body. I have added a few links to the article in response to the request at the top of the page.
