Scottish[edit]

In England's Green and Pleasant Land. (Penguin Books; 608.) Harmondsworth: Penguin, 1947 the account of the author on the cover says "he is a teetotaller of the third generation and doesn't smoke, and he has the advantage of living in an old manor house in the Cotswolds and of being a Scot." (to explain his good health at 81). However he was born in Cumberland so perhaps English rather than Scottish categories should have been used.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 13:32, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
