reliable sourcing[edit]

I have reverted the claim that this person is a pedophile until I can get feedback that TheSun.co.uk is a reliable source. Isn't this mag along the lines of US supermarket tabloids? If the source is acceptable it can be put back in. ==killing sparrows 18:37, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a reliable source. Anyway, the claim isn't disputed in anyway, Ivan admitted to his attraction to young girls. --Moffollo 19:39, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Per our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, we cannot use a tabloid source for a claim this controversial. I've removed it. coelacan — 00:44, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moffollo, I still feel that this extraordinary claim needs extraordinary sources to back it up. I have asked a third party to take a look at the article. Would you object to removing the claim and reference until this can be resolved? --killing sparrows 23:50, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no evidence to support that Ivan is what is being claimed. You may be getting confused with the accusations made by Richard and Judy Finnergen, on their Channel 4 (UK) show, expressing they thought Tatu was "sick". This does mean Ivan is a pedophile 92.12.59.15 (talk) 20:57, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ivan Shapovalov appears to be something of a provocateur, according to his article in the Russian Wikipedia (which anyone can read with Google Translate). It says he qualified in medicine, worked briefly in child and adolescent psychiatry and, two years after his degree, switched to advertising. After five years of that he had the idea of a "teenage girl band with sexual overtones." (See "Teen Spirit" by Gary Shteyngart, in The New Yorker, March 10, 2003). He told The Sun newspaper (2nd October 2003) that he preferred under-age girls, with predictable results. He also tried to get another girl singer to dress up as a suicide bomber to perform on the anniversary of 9/11, twice, both in Moscow and in London, but was (conveniently?) prevented from doing so. He seems to have been trying to shock, on the basis that "all publicity is good publicity." Which means we have to question everything he says. NRPanikker (talk) 00:21, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

in 2011[edit]

:D —Preceding unsigned comment added by Славик Беляев (talkcontribs) 20:04, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
