Hello, I am an unregistered user and I cannot sign my intervention, however, I would like to point how that the page contains two significant mistake. 1) The invasion of Jersey was a French operation only: the Dutch Republic did not enter into American Revolutionary War until Dec. 1780, much later than the operation described in the page. This part of the conflict is referred to as Fourth Anglo-Dutch War (1780-1784). 2) The leader of the expedition Karl Heinrich von Nassau-Siegen was a French officer and adventurer, not a Dutch citizen as indicated by the Dutch flag. Both mistakes arose by confusing him with Charles Christian, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg who was not involved at all in the episode.

Hence I suggest to delete the references to the Dutch Republic in the title and remove the Dutch Flag or substitute it with the Royal French one where necessary. Thanks.

Came here with the same doubt and discovered this. Tried to check the sources and the Gazette didn't mention any Dutch at all and the other book didn't returned anything useful. Anyway the british didn't declare war on the Dutch until 1780 and seems very unlikely they would be involved in this. Red Rudy (talk) 15:06, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
