Relationship to MLK[edit]

Does anyone know if the current MLK Blvd -- which connects the old I-170 to the B-W Parkway (295) and I-95 (via I-395) -- follows the path originally intended for I-595 in Baltimore? --Jfruh 01:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm no, from what i can digg up, MLK and I-395 were purpose built to their current configuration, minus alterations due to Camden Yards, and were not part of any other highway configuration. From what i can gahter, I-595, would have used I-170 and then went sounth useing the aligment proposed for I-70 between I-170 and I-95, connecting to I-95 near Caton Ave, their are ghost ramps on 95 marking where the I-70/I-595 connection would have been located.

That last map is particularly illuminating ... I think I'll make links to it on some of these pages... --Jfruh 13:47, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
