Anybody notice that this is the exact person as Jelena Zrinska? Someone might want to do something about this.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 05:53, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I've proposed merging Ilona Zrínyi and Jelena Zrinska. I think the first step should be determining which name the woman is most commonly known by in English-language literature. Since all the sources of Ilona Zrínyi are Hungarian, and the sources of Jelena Zrinska are unlisted, but I'm guessing Croatian, can anyone help with English sources? Well, I can see there's a lot of interest in this topic... I know it's not the best method, but a simple search of English google shows several hundred times more results for the version of the name "Ilona Zrínyi" than "Jelena Zrinska," so I'm going to go ahead and merge the articles under that name... unless someone objects? Someone? Anyone? Emika22 (talk) 13:36, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ilona Zrínyi is obviously the most common name. Alternatives (neither Hungarian nor Croatian) include Helen Zrinska and Helen(a) Zrínyi. Let's merge the articles under the name Ilona Zrínyi and then discuss the name. Surtsicna (talk) 13:49, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've done it! I took at the material from the Jelena Zrinska page that wasn't already here - including the great pictures - and added it here. I followed the steps for a Selective Paste Merger as per WP:SMERGE. Emika22 (talk) 07:36, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jelena Zrinski[edit]

Jelena Zrinski was the daughter of Petar Zrinski - who was, undeniably, a Croat. It is thus proper to have the article name being Jelena Zrinski and not Ilona Zrínyi which is the Hungarian variant. Zrinski is also the name by which the family is known in English. 104.158.48.139 (talk) 12:12, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
