Untitled[edit]

Ian Bannen played Robert the Bruce's father in the movie "Braveheart". Remember the machiavellian leper? That's him.

Marriage date[edit]

The BBC source for Bannen's death has his marriage to Marilyn Salisbury happening in 1976. However, the GRO index has it registered in the 4th quarter of 1978. Other sources (not cited here as such) are unreliable for various reasons, including wrong name etc. The GRO index entry is credible where the BBC news entry is not, so I have edited and provided sources.
