Hi, I will be reviewing this article which is currently up for GAN, I should have the full review out shortly. Cyclonebiskit 21:50, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

1. The lead needs to be restructured. Have one paragraph for the storm history and another for impacts.
2. Missing non-breaking spaces all over
3. Commas are needed in scattered locations
4. Link non-tropical to Cyclone#Types

6. On October 16, the cyclone continued to develop as more thunderstorms developed and persisted near the low-level circulation. develop...developed
7. That evening, Michael leveled off in intensity as a minimal hurricane, and it remained as such into the morning of October 18 as the eye remained ragged (albeit well-defined) as it paralleled the Gulf Stream. as a...as such...as the...as it
8. On the afternoon of the 18th, Michael strengthened slightly to 85 mph (135 km/h) before weakening slightly once again that evening as it began to weaken somewhat as it tracked into cooler water and also began its extratropical transition while accelerating to the northeast towards Newfoundland. somewhat of a lengthly sentence
9. Early that afternoon, while just to the south of Newfoundland and racing northeastward, a ship report in the eastern eyewall reported a minimum central pressure of 965 mbar and 100 mph (160 km/h) winds, making Michael a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale. Four things, link "mbar" to Bar (unit), and add the conversion in inHg, link Category 2 hurricane to Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale#Category 2 and can you give a speed instead of saying "racing northeastward"
10. Sporadic power outages were reported throughout the island. Power outages were reported as far east as St. John’s, and as far west as Corner Brook. I find this a bit redundant since you say that the power outages occurred throughout the island, you don't have to change this if you feel that it's needed though.
11. Abbreviate the units of measurement at the end of the third paragraph in the Preparations and impact section
12. Is there a reason why the measurements are imperial (metric) in the storm history and metric (imperial) in the preparations and impact section?

Several issues in the article, they should be relatively easy to fix though. As such, I'm putting the article on hold until they are addressed. Cyclonebiskit 22:08, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

I'll the lead slide this time ;) I personally don't find that type of lead appealing even if it does meet MoS. However, since everything else looks good, I'm passing this article, nice job! Cyclonebiskit 17:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
