Specific concerns

  • Caption for the battle of barnett pic should probably say "Warwick's rebellion ended in his dath in the Battle of Barnet in 1471, here depicted in a late-15th century manuscript illustration." The caption as it stands implies but does not state that the pic illustrates the battle.
  • Did you check his CP entry against http://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cp/index.shtml to make sure there aren't corrections?
  • No link for Edward, Earl of March in the second paragraph of Service?
  • He is linked in the next sentence as King Edward IV. I though it would be more intuitive to link him with the name under which most people know him.
  • "...the king heaped lands and offices on him." sounds vaguely unencyclopedic... perhaps ".. the king granted him numerous lands and offices."?
  • Would make more sense in the second paragraph of Service to go chronological on the last few sentences. Right now it's 1462, 1461, 1464...
  • Death .. "In 1468, the discontent Warwick named the Earl of Devon as a courtier with undue influence on King Edward." is awkward, perhaps "In 1468, the discontented Warwick named the Earl of Devon as a courtier with undue influence on King Edward."?
  • As a side note, I have the third edition of Handbook of British Chronology if you want me to look up something for you, I'd be glad to ...
  • Well, if you could check that I got the earl of Devon succession right, that would be good. I'm pretty sure Henry Courtenay never received his brother's title. Wagner calls him "Earl of Devon", but then contradicts himself elsewhere in the book.[1]
It runs "Thomas Courtenay; Humphrey Stafford; John Courtenay" so you got it right. Ealdgyth - Talk 18:56, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on.
