Merge Proposal[edit]

I propose that this article be removed and merged with compulsive hoarding. I'm not convinced the term gomi yashiki has any distinct meaning from the English term "hoarder house" or Collyer mansion aside from the idiomatic phrasing of "trash mansion". It's very strange to describe "hoarder house" as a specifically Japanese term. I'm currently working on adding an epidemiology section to Compulsive hoarding and will include some of the information on this page, but I don't think individual news reports of hoarder houses warrant mention. I don't think merging is necessary because this article seems to emphasize more on the Japanese-specific hoarder houses instead of the more general/worldwide disorder of Compulsive hoarding.
