Potential problems[edit]

I split this article from Thornton Heath as it is simply too long to be an effective summary, which is what is required for that article. I have two concerns still. Firstly that, judging by the tone, this text may be sitting on a local history information sheet in Croydon library somewhere, or is an academic paper. I've done some searching for the text online without finding it, but that does not mean it is not still out there. The bibliography reads exactly like the sort of list you expect at the end of either document. Secondly, the text reads like an essay in that it is making an argument formed by a synthesis of sources and it has a conclusion. Assuming the text is original and not under copyright, there probably needs to be some effort to edit that out. MRSC (talk) 07:38, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Given the dates of publication, I would expect that a lot of sources arent online. I wrote some of the content. A key publication (hard copy only) was compiled by library staff, but based on extensive research (bibliography included). There was only one copy on the shelves at Thornton Heath Library, so there is a risk it will be lost.

multiple issues[edit]

Obviously, a concern.

I have been very impressed by the in-depth knowledge of the original author, and how well its written.

I have not altered that content at all. I have added some content (Beulah Spa, early 20th century onwards). I need to check the tone of that, but otherwise I think the issues may be in content from that author? I dont have the knowledge or access to sources to try and add things like citations. So it would rely on that author to sort out the problems, if they want to.82.71.30.27 (talk) 17:40, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I see this page has got low ratings from 2 wikiprojects. I'm not sure what needs to change.82.71.30.27 (talk) 17:57, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
