New generic names forthcoming[edit]

Stångberg and Anderberg (2014) reassigned the type species of Hirpicium to Gorteria, and indicated that this implies that the species that up till now have been in Hirpicium and were not reassigned, need a new generic name.[1] These authors announced the remaining species to form a monophyletic clade, but recognise two very distict subclades and propose to reinstate Berkheyopsis for one subclade and a new name Roessleria for the other. Publication is forthcoming.[2]
