Clarify request: Dilute[edit]

Currently the article states that "as these clouds fall into the disk of the Galaxy, they add material that can form stars and dilute the star forming material already present"

In cases where they are "adding to" the material, the space the material occupies would have to expand faster than the rate at which the material is added to "dilute", rather than "concentrate"; or/and; the material would have to be used up faster than it is being added.

Is there proof that a dilution of material occurs in all cases? If not then the statement must be qualified/quantified. Chaosdruid (talk) 21:11, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Megayears[edit]
