Buckwheat Zydeco

Sometime in the early 90s, Buckwheat Zydeco did a fantastic version of Hey Joe on either Dave Letterman or the Tonight Show. Dont know the date, but sometime in the 1990-1993 period I think. I believe its on YouTube somewhere, I dont know if he recorded it on any of his albums. Murple 04:56, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Stevie Ray Vaughan

I just checked the Legacy Recordings website [1] and you are right. The tracklist for the DVD & CD releases dont contain "Hey Joe". I'll remove the reference in the article.--Design (talk) 11:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Removed tag

Removed Kusters Last Band from article

Having added a [citation needed] tag a couple of months ago, which has not been addressed, I have decided to delete the mention of Kusters Last Band since it does not meet WP:VERIFY criteria. In addition, I can find no mention of a band of this name, featuring members named John Catapano or John Smith anywhere on the internet. I believe that the mention of this band in the article is an example of WP:VANITY on behalf of a particular editor or editors. In addition, I feel that such a mention of this band might be in contravention of certain parts of the WP:TRIVIA, WP:MUSIC and WP:SPAM guidelines. Kohoutek1138 00:03, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

A.R.E. Weapons

Infoboxes

According to Template:Infobox single, "Released – This field should refer to the earliest known date" and "Label – "This field should refer to the label on which the single/album was originally released. Where significantly different versions have been released ... the later release date and/or record label should be mentioned in the article". No guidance is given for the use of single covers/labels, so later (non-original) images appear acceptable.

Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Layout provides some guidance regarding placement of article images, which are comparable to infoboxes: "Images should ideally be spread evenly within the article, and relevant to the sections they are located in" and "Generally, if there are so many images in a section that they strip down into the next section at 1024×768 screen resolution, that probably means either that the section is too short, or that there are too many images" (WP:LAYIM). A brief review of song Featured Articles and Good Articles does not show any articles with bunched or stacked infoboxes. Too many or wrongly placed infoboxes make an article appear cluttered and amateurish; in some cases they may be misleading, for example when an infobox for a later version shows up in a section about the original song. Infobox details can be included as prose in the appropriate section.

Since the writer (or credits) for the original Leave's single (P.D. arr. Mirwood Music) and Hendrix single (Trad. arr. Hendrix) differ from that mentioned in the article, these fields have been left blank with hidden notes. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:45, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Authorship

Under the Authorship section, the following is stated

Despite extensive archives of U.S. folk and blues music, and studies of the same, in the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution,[17] and other bodies, no documentary evidence has been provided to support the claim, by the late Tim Rose[8] and others, that "Hey Joe" is a wholly traditional work. (See also the article on "Morning Dew" regarding Rose and song copyrights.)

This seems to be original research added by a single editor. Back in 2005, Design added the following

Claimants that Hey Joe is a wholly traditional work have yet to provide any documentary evidence of it's existence prior to Roberts' 1962 copyright registration, despite extensive archives of US folk and blues music in the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institute and other bodies.

When this was tagged as possible OR by SMcCandlish, Design just removed the tags without adding any references. Johnny Hallyday version (in French)

Why does only Johnny Hallyday's particular (French) version (except for Hendrix's) get its own section? The protugeues-langauge version doesn't. Hallyday was a star and media darling in France, but still... Acwilson9 (talk) 15:19, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
