Wrong info[edit]

If Helgi survived beyond the attack of Arnulf of Carinthia (850-899), his wife Aslaug was not Harthacanute's (1018-1042) twin sister, both were born about 100 years later.--Gilwellian (talk) 08:07, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Helgi and association with Harthacnut[edit]

Going back to Harald I "Fairhair" King of Normandy (850-933) shows parents as Halfdan the Black who most researchers give dates as (c.810-858) and his wife Ragnhild Sigurdsdotter (c.830-858). Ragnhild's parents were Sigurd Hart who's dates should be (c.810-860) and his wife Ingeborg (c.814-860). Sigurd was the son of Helgi who's dates should be (c.790-850) and his wife Aslaug putting her dates (c.790-850). She could not be the twin sister of Harthacnut who was born c.880! Again, Aslaug's parents are Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye (c.762-783) and his wife Blaeja (c.763-840). You say that Blaeja is the daughter of Ælla who died 21 March 867 king of Northumbria). Aella would have to have lived before 745 but his death would make him at least 122 years old! I don't feel competent enough to edit the records as I have no source, but just dates estimated ancestry based on marriage of a 20yr old male and 17yr old girl. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Diverdeb2002 (talkcontribs) 01:01, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
