Just to clarify on the point of the presenters names, having checked the stations official website; www.hereward.co.uk and the listings in the local newspaper (Evening Telegraph) Danno is listed as 'Danno'. There's no reference to his sirname, and no reference to him being called Daniel. 'Danno' must be a stage name (common in radio), and therefore must be listed as DANNO if this article is to remain accurate.

'Danno' is a nickname, as his real name is Daniel Fox. Sean Cooper 21:51, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you produce a citation for that? Wikipedia does not publish disputed information unless we have a reliable source--Docg 21:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you're only going to list people as their birthnames, then there are some serious adjustments to be made. Kevin Lawrence, Michael Faulkner, Jonathan Vaughn, Robert Chandler etc etc.

Bear in mind that many presenters choose not to use their real name or even their sirname for safety, personal, privacy and security reasons. Please respect this.

OK, I'm not involved in this article, but here is how Wikipedia works. Where there is a disagreement, you discuss it here and try to reach an agreeement. If you cannot, then you go to dispute resolution to get some more opinions. You do not keep reverting each other to your preferred version. If you continue to do that, I as an administrator will block all you from editing.
As to the content, generally we do use full names with nicks given in brackets afterwards. However, if the website only gives the nickname, then that is what you will have to use, unless you can find another reliable source that gives his full name. 'I've heard him saying it on the radio, or even 'he's my dad' don't count. By using reliable sources, we ensure two things 1) that we get it right 2) that we aren't giving out personal information unless that information is already in the public domain. If a reliabel source uses his name already, then Wikipedia isn't causing breeching his privacy.
Now stop it. This article should read 'Danno' per the website, unless someone caqn find a reliable source for his full name, in which case we give the full name. Now, that's quite simple really.--Docg 11:06, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I took the liberty of Emailing said presenter, his reply was simple. Danno. He's seen this discussion, and complained to wikipedia, and mentioned that the page on Craig Stevens really ought to be renamed to reflect his proper name in this case!

I don't want an edit war, but I do think that radio pages should be right...like all wikipedia pages. Radiotycoon 14:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Doc. Please note that I am not in any editing war, and never have been. I have in the past simply corrected the name back to 'Danno' or 'Danno Fox'. For citation please see http://www.mediauk.com/discussions/profile.muk?mode=viewprofile&u=18347, http://www.myspace.com/radiodanno and http://www.hereward.co.uk. I can confirm that the presenter in question is simply known as 'Danno', and nothing else, on air (I have also checked this with another Hereward FM presenter). Keep up the good work! Cheers.
