Plagiarism?[edit]

This article appears to have been taken from Cricinfo's player profile, and left unedited, and then not having given any reference to using Cricinfo as a source...In other words, it's been pretty blatantly ripped off! I shall quote the Cricinfo article I am referring to:

[...]

Notice that some of the sentences are the same? I suggest we revert to an older revision, pre April 25

You can see for yourself at Cricinfo

Thanks for spotting it. I've reverted to the version before the copyright violations were added. Stephen Turner (Talk) 18:05, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find the wording a little emotive and a little criticizing of Amla's position "which has led to campaigns to remove all alcohol-promoting logos from merchandise and playing gear. He objected to the advert for Castle Lager beer on the South African team kit and has been allowed to wear a shirt without the logo of a brand of South African Breweries, one of South African cricket's biggest sponsors."

  • did he cause the alcohol logo removal campaign to happen? Were there even a mentionable campaign?
  • did he object or did he politely ask for permission not to wear the logo?
  • Why is it relevant that SAB is the biggest sponsor?

I think the writer is making their own opinion known. I suggest we tone it down to being factual. If the writer has a source they can quote then I will happily back down

Agreed. The current wording is much better: "He has successfully requested that alcohol-promoting logos should not be shown on his merchandise and playing gear." StewieCartman (talk) 20:08, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y". As is, I simply do not understand what needs to be changed. Can you be more specific? Thanks! Avicennasis @ 07:39, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
