Scientist?[edit]

Is it proper to call him a "scientist"? His professional background is in literature. I can see an argument either way, but I wonder if someone reading the word "scientist" assumes that it indicates professional credentials. Guanxi (talk) 00:34, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He went on to do a Ph.D. on the romantic poetry of John Keats[1]
(Maybe someone could determine whether he obtained his doctorate, or merely did it.)

tone it down[edit]

At a glance, 11 of the 26 cited references point to books/articles authored by the article's subject. This ought to be reduced, as it lends the article a distinct curriculum vitae tone (WP:NOCVS).
