Happy Birthday lyrics – possible copyright infringement?[edit]

Isn't publishing the lyrics of Happy Birthday in the article a copyright infringement?

It is notable to remark that Wikipedia's Happy Birthday to You article does not contain the lyrics of this song for this reason (or perhaps to subtlely point out the absurdity of copyright as it is today) Instead it notes:

The lyrics to "Happy Birthday to You" can be found on the purported copyright owner's website.[1]

Stop the World - I Want to Get Off "Happy Birthday"[edit]

MM sang "Happy B'day Mr President" in public on Saturday, May 19, 1962. I was listening to an "Original Cast Recording" of Stop the World – I Want to Get Off. In the song "Typsche Deutsche", Ilse sings "Happy Birthday Dear Adolf" in a very sexy voice, with a cute MM-like "ooh!", that made me think that she was imitating MM's famous performance. However, SWIWGO premiered in July, 1961, almost a year before MM sang her version.

Did the original sexy "Happy Birthday (Mr. President / Dear Adolf)" begin with SWIWGO in 1961 or did the Ilse character start to change the performance AFTER MM's rendition? Does anyone know if MM attended SWIWGO or heard it anyplace and whether it influenced HER performance? AdderUser (talk) 07:48, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship with Kennedy[edit]

Mention should be made that Kennedy was not just "the President" to Monroe, but also a secret lover. It is pertinent because it makes the sultriness something more than just an act. She was sewn into the dress; obviously, she had to be naked for that to have been possible. The Rhinestones were "Strategically" placed to cover any possibility of either her breasts or genitals to be obvious. Look at her shape; It is without any visible fat.
