First ship of the line to circumnavigate the world?[edit]

I've removed the line about being the first ship of the line to circumnavigate the world - HMS Centurion did it in 1744. Shem (talk) 12:22, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

76 guns - modified??[edit]

The line stating she was modified in 1817 to carry 76 guns... is that really correct? Most 74s became 76s overnight when the rating system was updated in 1817, as carronades were now counted. 3rd rates typically carried a pair of carronades on their forecastles at this time, so it seems a little unlikely to me that there was any actual modification to the ship... I agree, she was just re-rated, not modified to add two guns. Winfield is clear on that point. I've altered the text accordingly, and also clarified the circumnavigation was in 1826, not 1817.
